Gentle paint renovation was carried out with pre-wax cleanser applied by hand producing a high gloss finish. We use this method instead of machine application in situations where paint is very soft or where complex body shapes make it difficult to machine effectively – both applicable on this vehicle.

Exterior: Custom (based on Pro-detail)

Protection: Swissvax Best of Show Wax (2 coats)

Cleansing process: Car hand-washed with Swissvax Car Bath and then rinsed. Paintwork clay-barred with Sonus Ultra-fine Clay (lubricated with VP Bling).  Dodo Lime Prime Lite Paint Cleanser applied by hand to all panels then buffed off. Paintwork then wiped down with Isopropyl Alcohol, rinsed with water and re-dried.  Wheels cleaned with Autosmart Smartwheels.  Exhaust tips de-tarred and then cleaned with Duragloss Metal Polish and superfine steel wool followed by Meguiars NXT polish.

Protection process: Coat of Swissvax Best of Show Wax applied then buffed off.  Identical second wax application carried out. Screen sealed with Wolfs Glass Sealant.  Wheels sealed with Swissvax Autabahm.  Tyres treated with Swissvax Pneu dressing.

Finished in Firenze Red this Evoque had been well prepared by the supplying dealership. Our New Car Detail was carried out with the paintwork protected by our belt and braces sealant and wax combination. Our current choices being Wolfs Bodywrap nano-sealant and Swissvax Shield wax.

As is usual for new cars a considerable amount of contaminants were removed from the paint surface by the clay-bar treatment.

As part of the New Car Detail we carry out a comprehensive paintwork check. We check for chips, scratches, general paintwork defects and pre-delivery accident repair. To check for the latter we use our paint thickness gauge – areas of paintwork that are thicker than the vehicles average are usually the result of accident repairs. This Evoque was spot-on on all counts.

The next service will be carried out just prior to winter and will be our Max Pro valet.

True to form our Cumbrian weather decided that rain would enhance the latter part of the photographic session!.

This project is slightly different to that of the Carrera 2S in that the Care Plan for the Evoque does not include mini-valets between the major services. This is a very popular option and is ideal for the owner who has the time and inclination to maintain their vehicle themselves between major services.

The Care Plan chosen for this Evoque is an initial service of our New Car Detail followed by our Max Pro valet (plus engine bay clean and flex interior) at 6 monthly intervals.

Cleansing process: Car snowfoamed with VP Orange Pre-wash, rinsed and then hand-washed with Swissvax Car Bath.  Paintwork de-tarred with VP Citrus Tar & Glue Remover then clayed with Sonus Ultra-fine Clay. Paintwork then wiped down with Isopropyl Alcohol, rinsed with water and re-dried.  Wheels cleaned with AS Smartwheels (face) and VP Bilberry (inners).

Protection process: Base coat of Wolfs Bodywrap Sealant applied then buffed off.  Top coat of Swissvax Shield Wax applied then buffed off.  All glass sealed with Wolfs Glass Sealant.  Wheels sealed with Swissvax Autabahm.  Tyres treated with Swissvax Pneu dressing.  Door seals treated with Einzett Gummi Pfledge.  All exterior plastics treated with G303 Aerospace Protectant.

This is an achingly cool car! Finished in Suzaka Grey this white with a hint of grey paint is simply sensational.
