Wax/Sealant Performance
We use an extensive range of tried and tested products to finish and protect paintwork. The table below indicates the performance that you can expect from these products.
As a general rule wax will give a shinier finish than sealant. Similarly sealant will be more durable than wax.
Where a durability range is shown eg 4-6 months this indicates a use dependant life expectancy for the product.
Beading (small droplets of water) and sheeting (literally sheets of water) are hydrophobic properties of wax/sealant applications. These properties will diminish over time but this does not mean that the application is no longer ‘working’.
Signs of wax/sealant applications being no longer effective include; the paintwork has a flat lack-lustre appearance and, relative to immediately after application, dirt adheres much more easily to the paint surface and washing takes appreciably longer.
